Share & Grow

We love playing in our huge outdoor space making the most of our natural playground and shady trees, we adore learning about our environment, sharing and exploring together.

We ensure spaces are set up for children to learn more about who they are and what they love. Yes, that means lots of messy play and water play!

Learn, Play, have fun

Children’s current ideas and interests are the foundation of the curriculum where educators observe, document and extend each child’s learning by planning and implementing fun, interactive and social learning experiences.

Acknowledgement to Country is an integral part of the daily routine, whether it be outside in the garden or inside on the mat area, paying respects to indigenous culture through song and actions.

Music and dance continue to be a big part of the children’s joy and social development, moving their bodies to songs from different cultures and eras of time. We love to discover what the children’s favourite grooves are and start a dance party!

Outdoors, rain or shine!

We provide space and opportunity for the children to enjoy tons of time outdoors in our beautiful large garden.

The Weitj room children really love the rain suits which are a regularly used resource, whether they are used for messy play, water play or simply splashing in puddles.

Children are introduced to outdoor sleep under our shady trees when the conditions are warm. So peaceful sleeping to the sounds of birds and rustling leaves.

Setting routines

Progressive mealtimes and sleep times are a huge focus, taking into consideration children’s individual needs and routines from home, which are reflected in the Weitj room’s routine.

Relationships with families are continued from the Kwelena room, where the children, educators and families have secure relationships from the time they start at FELC.
