Two to three years is a time of self-discovery, learning about their likes/dislikes and their individual agency.
We love seeing the children explore and immerse in dramatic role play and imaginary play in our room.
We believe children are curious by nature. When it comes to play we follow their lead.
Role play and imaginary play is highlighted through the set-up of the environment, where areas both inside and outside are organised with different resources to provoke and encourage children to use their imaginations, creativity, language, and social play.
The children love getting outdoors, sharing the outdoor space with the Yongka children and educators. Educators plan time for outdoor play around the children’s individual needs and routines throughout the day.

The kids also love the wonderful food at FELC! Every day we come together to share nutritious meals – setting up healthy eating habits at a young age.
We love seeing the children explore and learn. We map the children’s experiences to the EYLF and we share them with families on Storypark and during daily interactions.
The Koomal children love to be involved in helping the educators with the day-to-day routines such as setting up for mealtimes, cleaning and packing away. They take ownership over their belongings by finding their name tags and putting their bag in the cubby hole, hanging their hats outside on the hooks, putting their own sunscreen on, and giving the educators their own nappies out of their bags for the day.
Genuine interest and care shape strong connections between the children and ourselves – the educators.
