Like any nurturing home, our kitchen is the heart of our Centre. Our menu planning ensures wholesome meals are served, respectful of dietary needs and preferences.
Menu planning shows our commitment to continuing FELC’s legacy of cultural diversity with meals inspired by the many wonderful nationalities represented in our community.
Shea, our education leaders and our management committee regularly review the menu to see where improvements can be made to ensure all children are encouraged to eat a balanced diet with seasonal produce and a dash of something potentially new to try. Some of the changes made to improve our children’s diet include reducing sugar, swapping refined ingredients for wholefoods, swapping out tinned foods for fresh fruit and dried legumes.
We welcome family feedback and input on what and where we source foods, our recipes and our weekly menu planning.
Being sympathetic to dietary requirements, every child’s nutrition and enjoyment of food is catered for. There are options for wheat and dairy intolerances, nut and egg allergies and preferences such as vegan, vegetarian and low sugar diets.
